Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), encompassing Acupuncture, Cupping, Tuina Massage and Chinese Herbal Medicine, adopts a holistic approach to health, considering the body as an integrated whole.
A key factor contributing to the effectiveness of Chinese Medicine is its detailed diagnostic process. Our TCM practitioners adhere to a set of diagnostic principles, known as Bian Zheng Lun Zhi (辨證論治), aiming to pinpoint imbalances within the body. These imbalances manifest as patterns of disharmony. Therefore, two individuals presenting with the same symptom, such as a headache, may receive different treatments based on their unique underlying diagnoses.
It is natural for your diagnosis to evolve over time, showing improvement with ongoing treatment or fluctuating during periods of stress. To address the root cause of your body’s imbalance effectively, we conduct a comprehensive Chinese Medicine consultation during each visit.
This consultation assesses your overall well-being, extending beyond mere symptomatology. It also explores how lifestyle, emotional, and mental health factors might be influencing your overall health.
YOUR FIRST VISIT
Pulse diagnosis is one of the four major assessments in TCM consultation
Your initial Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consultation will last up to 30 minutes. This comprehensive, four-stage consultation includes: observing your appearance, investigating the history of your symptoms, examining your tongue, and taking your pulse. You may be asked a broad range of questions regarding your symptoms, dietary habits, sleep patterns, emotional states, past medical history, current medications, and any other factors that could provide insight into your health.
Following this thorough evaluation, our Chinese medicine doctor will compile a confidential report and develop a customized treatment plan. This plan will detail your underlying imbalances, outline your care timeline, and include additional health recommendations to support a successful outcome.
Your first treatment may occur immediately following the initial consultation. This treatment typically combines various methods, such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, tuina massage, and cupping, complemented by daily exercise and dietary advice.
Given the dynamic nature of your health, each treatment session will include some level of reassessment. This ongoing evaluation allows us to monitor your progress and adapt our approach based on the symptoms you are experiencing at the time. As your health evolves, so too will your treatment plan, ensuring that no two visits are exactly the same.
